Overview
Create a fully bespoke wall bed using our heavy-duty SBLM Spring Balanced Lift Mechanism.
The SBLM Kit is an extremely cost-effective solution for building a wall bed within a wooden cabinet. Instead of purchasing a full metal frame, slatted base or complete leg system, the SBLM Kit allows you to construct your own bed frame and cabinet from timber, giving full flexibility over the size, design and finish of the final installation.
This makes the SBLM Kit ideal for cabinet makers, joiners, trade professionals and experienced DIY users who want to create a custom wall bed to suit a specific room, cabinet design or interior finish.
The mechanism can be used for a wide range of bed sizes, from small single up to super king, and can be configured in either a vertical or horizontal orientation.

The SBLM Kit is designed for bespoke wall bed projects where only the spring-balanced lift mechanism is required.

How the System Works
The SBLM mechanism has a patented technical advantage over standard wall bed mechanisms.
The power of the mechanism is held in reserve until the panel bed face is in position. Once installed, the SBLM power pack is adjusted to bring the bed into balance.
This means the installer does not need to manually arm the mechanism, making installation safer and simple. The tension can be adjusted by adding or removing springs, allowing better balance to be achieved once the full weight of the panel, frame and mattress is known.
The mechanism is not designed to reduce the number of springs required, but to make the process of balancing the wall bed safer, easier and more precise.

Mechanism Capacity
The standard SBLM mechanism uses 9 springs per side, giving a maximum recommended combined weight capacity of 100kg.
This combined weight includes:
- Cabinet door / front panel
- Timber bed frame
- Mattress
Optional extra-strength springs are available separately, increasing the recommended capacity up to 125kg. These are rarely required but can be useful for heavier bespoke installations.

The cabinet, timber bed frame, mattress, panels, handles, bedding straps, leg system and any additional cabinetry materials are not included unless stated otherwise.

Lead Time
For stocked items of wall bed mechanisms (without cabinetry or panelling), mattresses or spares, we normally dispatch same or next day for next day delivery to UK mainland. Our courier delivers Monday to Friday (except bank holidays) between 8am-6pm. If you require delivery on a specific date this can also be arranged through our sales team. Our sales team will contact you once your order has been placed to arrange delivery for a suitable date. If a product is showing as “available on backorder” please contact us for an estimated lead time.
