Overview

The NEXT BED™ King Size Wall Bed is a practical, comfortable and cost-effective space-saving solution, ideal for larger guest bedrooms, master bedrooms, apartments, holiday accommodation and multi-use living spaces.

Designed as part of our stand-alone wall bed range, the NEXT BED™ does not require a full cabinet to operate. It is extremely versatile and can be installed as an exposed wall bed, built into a cabinet, or concealed behind sliding doors, bi-fold doors, wardrobes or decorative screens.

The king size provides a very generous bed while still freeing up tons of room when the bed is closed. This makes it an ideal solution for customers who want the comfort of a larger bed without permanently losing valuable floor space.

The NEXT BED™ combines a robust steel frame, comfortable sprung slatted base and easy-to-operate spring-balanced lifting mechanism.

Please note: The NEXT BED™ must be securely fixed to the wall, floor, or both, depending on the installation.

Comfortable Sprung Slatted Sleeping Surface

The NEXT BED™ King Size includes a laminated sprung slatted sleeping surface designed to provide comfort and support for regular sleeping use.

The sprung slats allow the mattress to flex naturally and respond to the shape of the body, helping to create a more comfortable sleeping experience than a solid platform.

This makes the NEXT BED™ suitable for everyday use as well as occasional guest use.

Spring-Balanced Lift Mechanism

The NEXT BED™ uses a specially developed spring-balanced lifting mechanism rather than gas lifts.

This provides strong, reliable lifting power and allows the mechanism to be adjusted to suit the mattress and installation. When correctly balanced, the bed can be opened and closed smoothly with minimal effort.

The spring system is designed for long-term use and can be repaired if required. The springs can also be replaced or uprated in the future should the mattress requirements change.

Compact and Flexible Design

The NEXT BED™ King Size is designed to provide a generous sleeping surface while taking up minimal space when closed.

Because the mechanism is positioned beneath the frame rather than at the sides, the overall footprint remains compact.

When used with a mattress up to 20cm deep, the bed can sit as little as 32cm from the wall. Adjustable floor brackets can also allow the system to accommodate mattresses up to 30cm deep where required.

As the system does not rely on cabinetry, it can be installed and used as an exposed wall bed, with the option to add surrounding furniture or concealment at a later date.

Mattress Guidance

For the most compact closed position, we recommend using a mattress up to 20cm deep.

Adjustments can be made during installation to accommodate mattresses up to 30cm deep, depending on the setup.

The NEXT BED™ can be used with a wide range of mattress types, including memory foam mattresses, provided the mattress is suitable for the mechanism in terms of its dimensions, depth and weight.

Installation Options

The NEXT BED™ King Size is designed to be installed in a vertical orientation.

It can be used as an exposed wall bed, built into cabinetry, or concealed behind sliding doors, pivoting bookcases, wardrobes, bi-fold doors or decorative screens.

The bed must be securely fixed to the wall, floor, or both, depending on the installation requirements.

Important Information

This product includes the NEXT BED™ King Size wall bed frame and mechanism.

A mattress, cabinet, doors, screens, bookcase system, surrounding furniture and additional cabinetry materials are not included unless stated otherwise.

Please be aware that you can’t attach a front panel to the bed frame as it would obstruct the automatic legs which extend as the bed is lowered.

Please note our manufacturer only supply a single bedding strap with each bed. Additional bedding straps can be purchased from our wall bed spares section.

The Sliding Library Cabinet Hardware enables you to create a bespoke sliding bookcase system that stylishly conceals your NEXT BED™ when not in use.

Pivoting Bookcase Cabinet Hardware

The Pivoting Bookcase Cabinet Hardware enables you to create a bespoke pivoting bookcase system that stylishly conceals your NEXT BED™ when not in use.

This product requires wall or floor mounting before use, please read the assembly guide thoroughly before attempting installation.

Lead Time

For stocked items of wall bed mechanisms (without cabinetry or panelling), mattresses or spares, we normally dispatch same or next day for next day delivery to the UK mainland. Our courier delivers Monday to Friday (except bank holidays) between 8am-6pm. If you require delivery on a specific date, this can also be arranged through our sales team. Our sales team will contact you once your order has been placed to arrange delivery for a suitable date. If a product is showing as “available on backorder”, please contact us for an estimated lead time.
