The Beta Bed™ is a compact and cost-effective hardware system designed for cabinet makers, joiners, trade professionals and confident DIY users who want to build a bespoke wall bed within a wooden cabinet.
Unlike fixed-size metal frame systems, the Beta Bed™ allows you to construct the bed frame and cabinet from timber to suit your exact requirements. This gives you greater flexibility over the overall size, finish, colour and style of the final wall bed.
The kit can be used to create a wide range of bed sizes, including small single, single, small double, double, king, queen and super king configurations, depending on your cabinet design and installation requirements.
The Beta Bed™ can also be mounted vertically or horizontally, giving excellent flexibility for different room layouts and space restrictions.

How the System Works
The Beta Bed™ uses the same heavy-duty spring-balanced lift mechanism as our Alpha Bed range.
Instead of purchasing a complete steel bed frame, the customer or cabinet maker builds the bed frame and cabinet from timber. The Beta Bed™ kit then provides the key mechanism components, including the hinges, spring-balanced lift system, adjustable leg rod and Trip-Free© leg assembly.
The adjustable spring tension allows the bed to be balanced to suit the combined weight of the cabinet front panel, timber frame and mattress.
The Trip-Free© leg system folds neatly beneath the front panel when the bed is closed, helping to create a clean, practical and safe finish.

Mechanism Capacity
The standard Beta Bed™ mechanism uses nine springs per side, giving a maximum recommended combined weight capacity of 100kg.
This combined weight includes:
- Cabinet door / front panel
- Timber bed frame
- Mattress
Optional extra-strength springs are available separately, increasing the recommended capacity up to 125kg. These are rarely required but can be useful for heavier bespoke installations.

Please note: Due to the wide range of bed sizes that can be created using this kit, cutting lists are not provided for every individual size. Please refer to page 23 of the technical guide, which shows the sizes that can be achieved using the various leg rod combinations and the recommended frame size.

This product is a mechanism and hardware kit only.
Cabinetry, timber, panels, handles, mattress and decorative finishes are not included unless stated otherwise.

The bed must be securely installed in accordance with the supplied instructions.
Studio Desk Mechanism
The Studio desk mechanism allows you to create a spacious bespoke desk to work with your Beta Bed:

Please note: The desk mechanism cannot be used with horizontal beds unless it is a king size or larger.

Lead Time
For stocked items of wall bed mechanisms (without cabinetry or panelling), mattresses or spares, we normally dispatch same or next day for next day delivery to UK mainland. Our courier delivers Monday to Friday (except bank holidays) between 8am-6pm. If you require delivery on a specific date this can also be arranged through our sales team. Our sales team will contact you once your order has been placed to arrange delivery for a suitable date. If a product is showing as “available on backorder” please contact us for an estimated lead time.
